Oct. 5-9

Next week we will be starting chapter 4 in math which deals with graphs and charts. We will also be working with the short u sounds in phonics. Our new word wall words will be:

And don't forget conferences on Tuesday and Thursday! Your child should have brought home your scheduled time yesterday. If you have a question of problem with your time please contact me!

Field Trip

We had a great field trip yesterday! The kids had fun and saw lots of different plants and animals. Here are some pictures I took!

So I've been slacking lately! Sorry for the absence on the web page! Next week we will continue to work on subtraction on math and will take the chapter 3 test on Thursday. Thanks to those students who returned their homework. It really does help! Next weeks word wall words are:

And as you saw in the note sent home this week, we will be going on a field trip to the Nature Center at Pioneers Park on Thursday, October 1st. There are still a few census sheets that have not been returned. Without these permission slips being returned your child CANNOT go on the field trip! Specials Schedule

We started a three day rotation on specials today. That means we will have music today, Thursday, and Friday. Next week we will switch to the next rotation. I will post the next two week's schedule here. Please make sure your child wears tennis shoes on the days we have P.E. And I personally recommend wearing tennis shoes every day so the kids can run around at recess time! The specials schedule is as follows:

A Full Week, With a Short Day!

We've started our first full week, just don't forget that we get out early tomorrow, August 25th, at 2:18! Every week we will have new word wall words. It would be very beneficial for your student if you would practice these words at home. By the end of the quarter your child will need to be able to read these words as quickly as possible! This weeks words are:

In math we will be starting chapter one towards the end of the week. This chapter will focus on reading, writing, and counting numbers through 20. Any work on these skills with your child would always be helpful!

I would also like to let you know that we will be doing show and tell in our classroom on Fridays. Your child is welcome to bring something to share on that day. Any other day they bring a toy to school it will be taken away until the end of the day.

Open House
